Time & Access Systems PNG create a positive fizz at Coca-Cola Amatil

Project: Coca-Cola Amatil – Use of the Time & Access Automated Employee Attendance System

Scope of works: The Time & Attendance Management System was installed at Coca-Cola Amatil a number of years ago. This case study focusses on the on-going use of the system.

Coca-Cola Amatil is one of the largest bottlers of non-alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages in the Asia-Pacific region and one of the world’s top five Coca-Cola bottlers. Coca-Cola Amatil operates in six countries - Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Samoa. The company employs 14,900 people across the group and has access to 270 million consumers through more than 700,000 active customers.

The Time & Attendance Employee Management System was installed at Coca-Cola Amatil a number of years ago. Application Support Specialist, Geofferina Tamme, at Coca-Cola Amatil said that whilst she was not with the company at the time of installation of the system, she now uses it on a daily basis with some very positive results. Geofferina lists the following as the most efficient parts of the system that enable her to do her job effectively:-

  • Add in RDO, and leave time for employees.
  • Have information exported out and then imported into the Payroll System.
  • Greatly shortens the time for pay processing.
  • It is a good way of keeping track of employee times.
  • It captures all employee overtime.
  • The audit report that tracks if times of employees have been manipulated, and who has manipulated the times, is in itself a very good management tool.
  • Monitor the absenteeism of individual employees.

Geofferina said that the above methods and reports that form part of the Time & Attendance system are a crucial part of her team management and with so many employees to track, the systems accuracy and reporting flexibility is important.

On occasion the team at Coca-Cola Amatil have had to contact Time & Access Systems PNG for technical support. Whilst rare, such things as, checking HandPunch terminals are working correctly, have required a specialist response. Geofferina says of her experience working with Time & Access Systems PNG, “The team is always very helpful. They are prompt when answering any queries. Issues are effectively resolved, either through email conversations, remote login to check the server or onsite checking of clocks. Having these various levels of service has also proven to work well for our organization.”
